With the legalization of marijuana on the horizon, policy-makers and media were focused on the number of plants that could be grown for personal use, while neglecting the long-known issues regarding growing cannabis safely in-home settings.
Rather than taking a stodgy ‘thou shalt not grow in homes,’ the Safe Grow Homes initiative encouraged safe growing in homes, with practical, helpful information for consumers, as well as recommendations to governments on setting remediation standards and guidelines on assessing and restoring unsafe grow homes into healthy ones.
